Vote Varley November 3rd

Hi, I am Warren Varley.

(I am running to represent the good people of Senate District 10 in the Iowa Legislature which includes all of Adair & Guthrie Counties; all of Dallas County except for Clive, Waukee & West Des Moines; Polk City & Sheldahl in Polk County; and the NE quarter of Cass County: part or all of 50 towns & cities, from Urbandale to Bridgewater, Anita to Booneville, Greenfield to Perry, Adel to Coon Rapids, Guthrie Center to Orient, Stuart to Granger).

I live and work with my wife Karen on the family farm where I grew up and where we raised our four children. For 30 years my family has trusted me to manage that heritage farm Karen & I are also attorneys at the law firm I founded in Stuart in 1992. My clients trust me to help them save taxes and plan for the future. I have been active in the community, serving in organizations, such as the Adair County Hospital Board, Stuart Enterprise for Economic Development, Adair County Farm Bureau, & Midwest Partnership Economic Development Corp. I enjoy carrying on the tradition of public service set by my father, Andrew Varley, who served in the Iowa Legislature and Iowa Commerce Commission. My dad had me cultivating corn & beans from the time my legs were long enough to reach the tractor pedals, and when I was learning to drive he told me to "keep it between the ditches" and that's not a bad description of my political philosophy. People of this district tell me, they are tired of the extremism and division that has poisoned our political conversations. A lot of my friends, including Republicans, will tell you that I have a passion for rural development and indeed I'm very proud of the many businesses and non-profits that I've had a hand in fostering. One of those projects was restoring the historic All Saints Catholic Church in Stuart. In 1995, an arsonist nearly succeeded in destroying the beautiful structure, an icon of the community. It was a challenge, and for a time it divided people. But in the end, by coming together, we were able to rescue this architectural treasure.

My wife & I met at Iowa State University. Wouldn't it be good, as Iowans, to get back to a time when the most divisive thing we had to argue about was whether to root for the Hawkeyes or the Cyclones? Let's keep Iowa on the road to prosperity & out of the ditches. To do that I need your vote. Just remember Vote Varley. #voteVarley
